on April 30^th, 2014 Writers’ House hosted an exhibition and public lecture dedicated to the prominent Georgian public figure Ivane Machabeli’s 160^th anniversary. The exhibition displayed archive materials of Ivane Machabeli’s life and work protected in Leonidze Georgian Literature museum, Georgian National Archive and Georgian Parliament’s National Library – photos, documents and manuscripts, as well as Ivane Machabeli’s personal book collection.

That same day Paata Chkheidze, a literator and translator held a public lecture for school students on Ivane Machabeli’s work and his translations of William Shakespeare.
