Writers' House Residency Program "Celebrate time, time!"

The Writers' House, with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, is announcing a competition for a two-week residency program, “Celebrate time, time!”

 

The aim of the residency program is to encourage writers and publicists to describe the present day, the problems and difficulties that Georgian society faces today, and to find ways to reduce the existing confrontation.

 

The winners of the competition will live at the residence of the Writers' House in Tbilisi for two weeks, November 25 to December 10, 2021, and will work on their texts.

 

The competition applications will be ed by the Supervisory Board at the Writers' House, based on the terms and conditions of the competition.

 

5 applicants will be ed based on the competition. The residency program includes:

• accommodation at the Writers' Residence;

• food;

• Scholarship (1000 GEL will be awarded to each participant after the end of the program).

 

Writers, translators and publicists are eligible to participate in the competition. During the program the contestants must write a 2000-4000-word article on the following issues:

• Georgia between modernism and traditional values;

• Orthodoxy and the current Georgian state;

• Women's rights;

• Homophobia as a threat to peaceful coexistence;

• Environment and ecology;

• Georgian language and its future;

• Integration of national minorities.

Article idea (200-300 words).

Please send the documents separately (in .doc, .docx or .pdf format). Name all the documents, indicate "Residency Program" in the title.

 

 

The deadline for applications is October 15, 2021.

You will be notified about the results of the competition by e-mail no later than October 20, 2021.
