The winners of Iakob Gogebashvili Children’s and Youth Literary Award are revealed

On October 26th , Writers’ House held an award ceremony of Iakob Gogebashvili Children’s and Youth Literary Award winners of 2018. The jury members, Nato Ingorokva, Zaza Abzianidze, Tea Topuria, Mariam Tsiklauri and Giorgi Kakbadze revealed the winners of Iakob Gogebashvili Children’s and Youth Literary Award.

 

This year’s winners are:

Best poetry book

Natia Janashia “racoon’s repairs” Palitra L Pubishing

Best prose book

a)    For little children aged 3-6 years

Tamri Pkhakadze “Kiki’s adventure”, Palitra L Publishing

b)   For children ages 7-12 years

Diana Anphimiadi “fairy tales written in drawing book”, Artanuji Publishing

c)    Adolescents

Nato Davitashvili “children of moon” Karchkhadze Publishing

 

Best illustrated book

a)     For little children aged 3-6 years

Ana Janelidze “Hipa chooses profession”, Zoliani Kata Publishing

b)   For children ages 7-12 years

Lela Tsutsikirdze “happy fmaily and others” Georgian Academy Publishing

 

Best children’s drama

Alex Chigvinadze “do they pound on your door too?”

 

Best translation / youth book

 Tama Kvijinadze – “The ballad of a broke nose” by Arne Swingen, Bakur Sulakauri Publishing

Best children’s/youth innovative project

 Irma Malatsidze – internet journal – “Children’s literature”

For contribution to children’s literature the award was granted to Guram Petriashvili

Iakob Gogebashvili Children’s and Youth Literary Award was established in 2017 by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with Writers’ House. The award takes place annually and its goal is to activate and encourage children’s writers.

Books published in 2017, plays and innovative children’s projects were eligible to participate in contest.


This year the award is awarded for the second time.

The award is financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia
