In relation to the 80th anniversary of Vakhushti Kotetishvili’s birth, a famous poet, translator, essayist, and folklorist, Writers’ House arranged Vakhushti Kotetishvili’s Dayson 17-18 December 2015. On 17 December, as part of the Anniversary Days, evening party was held to commemorate Vakhushti Kotetishvili’s works and present his Collection of Sonnets. Vakhushti Kotetishvili had already been well known to the society as a translator, publicist / essayist, and folklorist. Writers’ House aimed to acquaint the public with the works of his last years through the Sonnets. The Collection of Sonnets was first published on the initiative of Writers’ House and with the financing the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia. On 18 December, celebratory ceremony was held to award the winners of schoolchildren competition - Vakhushti Kotetishvili – My Life. After the event, translator and Eastern Studies specialist Giorgi Lobzhanidze held a lecture for schoolchildren about life and works of Vakhushti Kotetishvili.
