In 2015, to celebrate Vakhushti Kotetishvili’s 80th anniversary, Writers’ House held a literary contest for high school students in Georgia. All students Georgian private and public schools, studying in IX-XII classes were eligible to participate.
The students had to write one of the three suggested essays, based on memoir book of Vakhushti Kotetishvili – “Chemi Tsutisofeli (My life):”
- “Bridge between two eras” – Vakhushti Kotetishvili as a narrator
- “The great terror” based on Vakhushti Kotetishvili’s “Chemi Tsutisofeli (My life)”
- Story of a family as a face of an era
61 essays were submitted various regions of Georgia. The winners were:
First place: Archil Gvasalia, Public schhol N 1 of Poti, class IX
Second place: Nino Janelidze – Public school N 2 of Ambrolauri, class X
Third place – Elene Javakhishvili, Tbilisi school N 6, class XII
For distinguished works, the following students were awarded Writers’ House certificates:
- Nino Gamtsemlidze, public school N 72 of Tbilisi, class X
- Mikheil Dalalishvili – public schhol of village Zvare, Kharagauli municipality, class XI
- Gagua – public school N 1 of Poti, class X
- Davit Mirianashvili – Sighnagi public school, class XI
- Luka Turtsumia – public school N 1 of village Jvari, Tsalenjikha municipality, class XI
- Guram Kharshiladze – public school of village Nigvzari, Sachkhere municipality, class XII
- Ana Makharashvili – public school N 1 of village Nukriani, Sighagi municipality, class X
