On June 16th, 2017, for the first time in Georgia, Writers' House held a celebratory opening of its 5 new residential rooms on the third floor. Rehabilitation and resotration of these residential rooms was funded by Business Association of Georgia. This is one of the succesful examples of cooperation between government and business. With this opening Writers' House expands its field of work and very soon we will offer interesting residential programs to foreign authors and translators. Now Writers' House joins the world network of other literary houses and residences. Authors and translators will have the opportunity to reside in this beutiful house and create their works.
The residences allow us to extend and incoprporate culturual connections with international literary organizations, residecnes and other literary associations. This is the chance for us to have more close cooperation with foreign authors, translators and publishers, invite them to Georgia, plan literary seminars, workshops and panel discussions, to get invovled in international literary processses, to develop new ideas and projects.
The residences will also greatly assist the annual Tbilisi International Festival of Literature. Writers' House will be able to offer its own space to the festival's guest authors and translators.
We think that multifunctional activity of our residences will be a huge perspective for Writers' House.
