International Literary Festival "Authors' Reading Month"

Literary Festvial "Authors' Reading Month" will be conducted for the 18th time in 2017 and this year the festival will be hosting Georgia. 

The festival has been running since 2000 in city of Brno, Czech Republic. In 2011 the festival expanded and involved two countries - Slovakia and Poland. In 2017 the festival will cover 5 cities of 4 countries: Brno and Ostrava (Czech Republic), Kosice (Slovakia), Wroclaw (Poland) and Lviv (Ukraine). 

According to the festival format, each year one specific country with its 31 authors is the honorary guest. After Ukraine and Spain, this year Georgia, which has been the epicenter of world's literary processes, becomes the honorary guest of the festival. 

The festival takes place in July, during 31 days ( July 1st till Agust 4th). 31 Georgian authors will visit 5 cities of 4 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The reading evenings will start in Brno, and every following day Georgian authors will visit a new city: Wroclaw (Poland), Ostrava (Czech Republic), Kosice (Slovakia), ) and Lviv (Ukraine). In parallel in each city the local writer meets the readers, each day of the month is dedicated to events of one local and one Georgian author. 

Modern Georgian literature will be presented in all genres. 31 authors will hold 155 events. The festival covers 4 countries, the authors will meet not only the readers but also meda representatives, publishers and other professionals involved in literary processes. 

Writers' House is the co-organizer of the festival, and the project is financially suported by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.
