Schoolchildren the village Meghvrekisi visiting Writers’ House

 Writers’ House hosted exceptional guests village Meghvrekisi (Gori region), on the 9th of October. Schoolchildren met the director of the organization – Natalia Lomouri, who spoke with them about the history of the building and future plans of Writers’ House. This introduction was followed by an interesting meeting with a writer and a playwright Lasha Bugadze. Later that day we escorted children on a visit at the Golden Treasury of Georgian National Museum, they were presented with the history of unique exponates. We are expecting guests other villages of Shida Kartli throughout the year.

                                                                                                  

The event is organized as part of the project funded by U.S. Embassy in Georgia “Writers’ House Educational program for Shida Kartli Schools”.

 The aim of Writers’ House educational program is to support the inclusion of youth (schoolchildren, students) in the cultural life of Writers’ House and the availability of  non-formal education in the capital as well as in regions of Georgia. 12 months long project “Writers’ House Educational program for Shida Kartli Schools” consists of three parts: Component N 1: Educational visits to Tbilisi; Component N 2: Outreach activities – Writers and civic activists in the villages of the conflict zone; Component N 3: Youth writing and final publication.
