On September 9th the Writers’ House hosted a literary translation workshop with participation of Georgian and British authors. The literary workshop was held with the initiative of the organization “Literature across frontiers” on September 9-14. The project supporters are the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, LEPL Georgian National Book Center, LEPL the Writers House of Georgia and the British Council.
Great Britain the following participants attended the workshop - Stephen Watts (poet/translator), Adam Smith (poet/translator), Alexandra Buchler (Director of literature Across Frontiers, the editor of anthology series, translator) Angela Jarman (editor, Arc Publications), Nia Davies (poet/ LAF communications manager).
Within the frames of the seminars, six English translations of Georgian poets’ work will be prepared (Gaga Nakhutrsishvili, Irakli Charkviani, Maia Sarishvili, Lela Samniashvili, Shota Iatashvili, Rati Amaghlobeli)
The translations prepared within the frames of the project will be published by the British publisher, Arc Publications as an anthology, in 2015.
