An exchange residency program has been announced

The Writers’ House and “Tbilisi – World Book Capital” are announcing an exchange residency program in Lviv and Tbilisi.

 

Submission of applications for participation of Georgian authors in Tbilisi and Lviv exchange residency program has begun.

Within the frames of the program, one Ukrainian author will live and work in the residence of the Writers' House, and the Georgian author will travel to Lviv, Ukriane.

A Georgian resident author will also attend an international literary festival “Lviv Book Forum”, which will be held on September 15-19.

To participate in an exchange residency program, an author who has published one or more books is eligible to apply. Additionally, knowledge of English (A2) is required.

The contest accepts applications to work on fiction texts of any genre. Based on the topic of the festival, priority will be given to authors, who plan to work on science fiction (the program of “Lviv book forum 2021” is dedicated to a 100th anniversary of a science fiction writer, Stanislaw Lem)

The main criteria for ing an author are: writing experience, the quality of the text and motivation letter justifying what will the author achieve by the residency period.

 

The applicants must submit the following:

 

CV or brief biography indicating the published books or other works

Motivation letter and an extensive synopsis (and/or excerpt) of the works that they are planning to work on during the residency period.

 

Only one author will be ed for the program.

The deadline for submission of applications is August 3, 2021.

 

The contest participants must send the required documentation to the following address: info@tbilisiwbc.ge (incomplete applications will not be accepted). Please indicate the name of residency program in the subject of the email.

 

The winner will be announced on August 14.

 

 

The residency program is 14 days long and will take place in the period of September 1-20 of the current year.

 

The program is being implemented with the support of “Tbilisi – World Book Capital 2021”. The project partners are Lviv City Council and ''Lviv-UNESCO city of Literature''.
