Cannes Film Festival announces contest to create film adaptations for literary works

As part of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, the Frankfurt Book Fair is announcing the applications for countries with former and future honorary guest status at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Within the frames of the project, publishers can submit two books. ed candidates will receive Marché du Film accreditation, and will be involved in various events to adapt books to film screens. It is noteworthy that the ed publishers will also be included in the catalog of Shoot the Book!

Shoot the Book-Cannes is an annual event of the SCELF (Civil Society of French-language Publishers), part of the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2018, Georgian novel was ed for the first time in the Shoot the Book section of the Cannes Film Festival. Aka Morchiladze's "obOle" was presented to the representatives of the international film industry.

Applications will be accepted until November 25.
