On November 10, at 18:00, on the 115th anniversary of the opening of Davit Sarajishvili's house, the Davit Sarajishvili Memorial Museum will be opened at 13 Machabeli street.

On the second floor of the Sarajishvili house, the belongings of Davit Sarajishvili and Ekaterine Porakishvili are gathered again - a dinner service made especially for this house in the Limoges factory with a monogram of David Sarajisjvili; the transparent, purple tile of Marcel, which used to cover one wing of the house; travel suitcase, safe, kitchenware, souvenirs and various historical documents. Visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to learn interesting details of the life and work of David and Catherine, with significant moments of their biography depicted on the walls of the house. 

This day is also historic for the Writers' House - since the opening of this house, one of the main tasks of the whole team is to popularize the life and work of Davit Sarajishvili, to re-introduce and remind the community of his work. Davit Sarajishvili's name was deliberately erased our consciousness by the Soviet era - for 70 years the public knew almost nothing about his multifaceted work and philanthropy.

Davit Sarajishvili was not only the first Georgian brandy producer, but also a man whose philanthropy significantly contributed to the success of almost every field in 20th century Georgia, economics, theater, music, university, art or literature. Therefore, the Davit Sarajishvili Museum is the history of Georgia at the beginning of the twentieth century, which, we think, will have many visitors and will soon become one of the most important places among the historic sights of Tbilisi.
