Together with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia, the Writers' House announces a short story competition "Oh, Captain! My Captain! The adventures of researchers begin". The competition is funded by the EU Research and Innovation Framework Program - "Horizon 2020", within the the frames of the project "Captain: Science is the Captain".
Young people aged 16-22 are eligible participate in competition.
The goal of the short story competition is to encourage young authors; Promoting their research and development of extrapolation and writing skills; Raising awareness on European and world scientific-technological inventions.
Competition participants are required to create a literary work (short story) on a scientific topic. The story of the work must include any scientific discovery, phenomenon or theory, technological invention or innovation.
An independent jury will review the competition entries and identify the three winners of the competition:
I place - deed and monetary prize in the amount of 1875 GEL;
II place - deed and monetary prize in the amount of 1250 GEL;
III place - deed and monetary prize in the amount of 1000 GEL.
The winners will be awarded at the European Researchers' Night opening ceremony on November 27. (For more information about the project, see here.)
