Writers' House announces a literary competition for high school students in Georgia to mark the 140th anniversary of Mikheil Javakhishvili.

Students of IX-XII grades of public and private schools of Georgia can participate in the competition.

The students must write one of the three proposed essays based on Mikheil Javakhishvili's work, and submit them for competition:

• Human destiny during epoch-making changes (according to "Jaqo's Disposessed");
• When there is no law (according to the "Devil's Stone");
• My favorite work by Mikheil Javakhishvili.

The essays for competition should be sent electronically to contest@writershouse.ge; The paper must be typed in Microsoft word in Georgian Unicode (font - Sylfaen, size - 12) and should not exceed 5 pages (1000 words). 

The deadline for submission is November 10.

Three prizes will be awarded, the winners will be awarded with vouchers of the bookstore "Biblus".

I prize - 500 GEL voucher

II prize - 300 GEL voucher

III prize - 200 GEL voucher

Essays will be evaluated by a jury composed of staff the Writers House. The award ceremony will take place at the end of November, depending on the epidemiological situation -at the Writers' House or online.
