This year is the anniversary year of Iakob Gogebashvili - October 27 marks the 180th anniversary of his birth.

One of the important editions of his legacy is Door To Nature. That is why the Writers' House wants to offer schoolchildren a new project - "Door To Nature Today" by Iakob Gogebashvili. 

"Door to Nature" was first published in 1868. This was the first schoolbook in Georgian language written by Iakob Gogebashvili. The book was amended, completed and reprinted several times, as it was very important for Iakob Gogebashvli to bring the book to perfection. The twenty-first edition, which was finally completed and revised by him, was published in 1912.  

The aim of the project is for the students of III-VI grades of Georgian schools to offer us an updated, their own version of "Door to Nature". More specifically, we would like to know if they had the opportunity, what material and themes they would incorporate into the modern edited "Door to Nature". 

Students of III-VI ades of Georgian schools can participate in the project. Applicants must complete the application form and send it no later than September 28 to the following address: vguleuri@writershouse.ge

Participants will be ed according to the application form they have filled out. Preference will be given to the diversity of topics and interesting ideas offered by them.

The ed participants will gather on October 3 at the Writers' House, they will be told once again about Iakob Gogebashvili's "Door to Nature".

The main part will be devoted to the creation of a modern, handmade book "Door to Nature" - participants will create a handmade book under the guidance of an experienced mentor. Their task will be to think of the material and topics (title and short description) that they think would be included in the new edition of Iakob Gogebashvili's "Door to Nature" today.
