On July 30, at 20:00, everyone has the opportunity to virtually attend the session of the famous Peruvian writer, Nobel Prize Laureate - Mario Vargas Llosa, with the help of TBC and Saba Facebook pages. The session can also be accessed on the Facebook pages of the publishing house Intelekti and the Writers' House.

The session will be held in dialogue mode and will be moderated by translator Lana Kalandia.

The interview was organized by TBC in partnership with the publishing house Intelekti and the Writers' House of Georgia. During the session, the writer will talk about interesting details of his biography and work.

Mario Vargas Llosa is a South American writer, essayist, politician and journalist. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2010 for "for his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individual's resistance, revolt, and defeat".

His novels "The City and the Dogs" (1966), "Conversation in the Cathedral" (1975), "Aunt JUliaand the Scriptwriter" (1982), "The War of the End of the World" (1984) "The Bad Girl" (2007), have been widely recognized and translated into many languages, including Georgian. 

One of the main themes of Mario Vargas Llosa's work is power and rebellion against the system. This is what his early novels are dedicated to, as well as "The Feast of the Goat" (2001) and "The Neighborhood" (2018), which have already been translated into Georgian. In addition to literature, Liosa also opposed dictatorship as a politician, but lost to then-Peruvian dictator Fujimori in the 1990 presidential election.

His novels have been published by Intelekti and Sulakauri Publishing House in Georgia, and the translators are Lana Kalandia, Maka Gogolashvili, Elisabed Kvavilashvili and Amiran Gabeskiria.

Mario Vargas Llosa is one of the most influential authors and intellectuals in the modern world, who has been playing an important role in the socio-political processes in the world for the last 50 years.
