Literary Festival

In 2020, full of apocalyptic expectations, the Writers' House will host the most isolated and dangerous festival "Insomnia" in its own walls!

 

If your mind is full of the future worlds and dangerous stories, and if you think you can write, send us your phobia-graphy (3-5 pages, you will tell us about your fears) and become the finalist of the first Georgian genre festival.

 

the applications, 7 winners will be ed, who will spend one night, full 12 hours during a week in the building of Writers' House and create works in the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres. The winners of the festival will be ed by the jury of the festival "Insomnia", whose members are writer Nato Davitashvili, translator Nika Samushia and writer Aleko Shughladze.

The works created by the winners will be published in one collection by Sulakauri Publishing House. The winners will receive the bookstore voucjers as symbolic gifts the Writers' House. In September of current year, a presentation of the collection of texts created within the frames of the festival will be held. 

 

The aim of the festival is to encourage the development of modern genre literature, which in turn will contribute to the activation of literary and publishing activities, creation and popularization of literary works of Georgian fantasy and science fiction genre.  

The idea of ​​the project belongs to the writer Zaza Koshkadze. The festival is held since 2013 as a result of the author's collaboration with various publishing houses. In 2020, the festival will be organized by the Writers' House for the first time.

 

Participants will be locked up at the Writers ’House on June 8-14.
